Winners Announced!

So, as you probably know we’ve had a competition for the last month.  All you had to do was send us a picture of something unopened, untouched or brand nu to win a rather dashing and fashionable t-shirt designed by our very own artist Brand Nu.

We’ve come to the conclusion that most jelly-lovers are not fans of anything new – or maybe just don’t wear t-shirts!  And although you didn’t all rush to enter our competition yourselves, we did have some rather awesome entries:

From Clare Gillmore @ The Viral Factory:

“Does a gorgeous bottle of minty Listerine count?  We’re saving it for our biggest pitch.”

From Johnny Watters @ Rapier:

“Thankfully I haven’t had to open this. YET!

ITEM: chaos

WARNING:  Chaos refers to unpredictability and is the antithetical concept of cosmos. In the event of a spill, spill control pillows can be purchased for absorbing chaos and other “disorder” related substances. Spills can also be neutralized with order.

NOTE: This product was prepared haphazardly.”

From Tarryn Blackwood @ The Youth Conspiracy:

“Unopened Sardine tin, next to the competition site!”

Thanks guys! We’ll be sending you and the others who entered a shirt very soon!!

Need some industry experience?

news

jelly hello!

We currently have the opportunity to offer some enthusiastic school/university leavers to help us around the office!  We have a list as long as our arms of promotion and in-house projects we need helping hands with.

What are we looking for?:

Bright, fun loving and enthusiastic youths who are up for anything!  Ideally with an interest in illustration, graphic design, animation, tv and/or advertising. Oh, and it helps to be street-wise and confident in London.

What are we offering?:

A short-term period with us at jelly towers, helping us with everything from press packs and jelly bags, to delivering the latest Alison Carmichael campaigns; photoshopping or working with after FX (if you already have experience); and of course, making tea & coffee!  We promise there’s never a dull moment with us jelly folk!

This position is unpaid.

If this sounds like something you want to do, get in touch!  Send a brief description about yourself and what you’d like to do, plus your CV and any contact details to michaela@jellylondon.com.

Looking forward to seeing some new faces!!

Added 31st July ‘09:

Hello folks!

Thanks to the wonderful people at D&AD, we’ve had a HUGE response to our request for helping hands.  Our calendar is booked up to Christmas with work experience placements, which sadly means we cannot offer any more for the time being.

But, do not fear!  Continue to send in your applications; We’ll keep them on file until we have some cancellations and/or it’s the New Year and we’ll be looking for another bunch of enthusiastic people to join us!

Michaela.

not just clothing… album covers!

Brand Nu_album

jelly hello!

Last week we told you about our artists dabbling in new clothing ranges.  Well, not only that but they have been spreading even further afield into the realms of music artwork and album covers!

Brand Nu recently designed the artwork for Terry Callier – Hidden Conversations.  (more details about the album can be found here)

Matt Johnstone has also been busy with this record cover for his friend.

“It is meant to be a wild party scene in a country mansion”

Apparently, the Seamless House Party album also comes with a fold-out poster of the full artwork! Super!!

And of course, there’s the EG Adventure Man album artwork by Tony Wilson that we told you about – check the previous blog here!

Toyzmachin – character army!

ILOVEJELLYLONDON_blog_thumbnail

well… not LITERALLY an army (but I wouldn’t want to fight them just in case!).

Our newby to the collective has just sent us his latest character creations.  Click on the thumbnail to see all 18 of them!

some jelly fun

gingerbread house

As we’ve been super busy in jelly towers for the past few weeks, we decided to allocate some time for us to chill and do our own creative fun things…

Last Christmas (seriously!) we bought our rather ginger boss a gingerbread house full of gingerbread men and sweeties.  It’d layed untouched in our office until now!

2 hours, some rather inventive decorating and a few thousand sugar calories later, we’d produced this beauty!!

You can see all the pictures from our house building on our flickr page, here

new directors bl:nd – animation for GAP

“Black and White” utilizes light and shadow to convey the opposing themes of the piece, including love/hate, life/death, young/old, daydream/nightmare, and ugliness/beauty. The narrative unfolds through an innovative mix of shadow puppetry and animation, as two-dimensional characters come alive in a colourless world, underscored by The Raveonettes’ haunting vocals.
A majority of the elements used in the video were shot in-camera, and puppeteers’ hands and rigging are often left in the shots to create a more spontaneous and organic aesthetic. The piece retains its whimsy through unexpected visuals, references to the beloved Danish fairy tales of Sune’s youth, and a richly textured physical and emotional landscape that can only be fully experienced after multiple viewings.

change it. feel it. love it. duerden it!

colour my life_sony ericsson

Our jelly baby Neil Duerden has just completed the latest Sony Ericsson campaign (his fifth for this brand!) that will be running all over the world very soon!!

Apparently he really enjoys the challenges of keeping this phone brand ahead of the competition… we just think he’s a step closer to that ‘world domination’ he keeps talking about!!
