Halloween Competition Winners!

The past week we’ve been holding a Halloween Design competition, where we’ve asked you – our friends – to design a Halloween-Themed Mr Jelly Pants. (No idea what we’re talking about? Click here)

This year has been the best response we’ve had so far for publicity and entries and we’d like to say thank you to everyone who had the time to enter! Let’s not forget everyone who forwarded the e-mail to their friends and re-tweeted our posts for entries. Thank you too!

The office has got a little heated with debate with who should win… hence why it’s taken us 4 hours to decide!!

The winner of our Halloween Competition was sent to us by illustrator Kareen Herbert! Our office instantly fell in love with this and she received the most votes in our office by a long-shot!!

She chose our Trick Prize – which means she’ll be receiving a lovely box of random stuff found around our office! (A sneak peek here!)

Our runners up were submitted by Glenn Maguire at Sparkle Media and Matt Poscha at Proximity London – well done to you both!!

All our current entrants and any we receive in the next few days will receive an Alison Carmichael Abandon Hope poster as a huge thank you from us at jelly – you’ve all put huge smiles on our faces :)

Aero Hi Res 01

We were approached by our friends at Leo Burnett to produce lettering for the latest poster campaign for McDonalds’ new Aero McFlurry ice cream. Alison Carmichael and the Krunch boys collaborated to create this chocolatey edible-like piece. Alison worked with the Agency to design the lettering and then Krunch rendered the shape in 3d to replicate the bubbly middle of an Aero bar, resulting in some type that was good enough to eat….

jelly hello!

We currently have the opportunity to offer some enthusiastic school/university leavers to help us around the office!  We have a list as long as our arms of promotion and in-house projects we need helping hands with.

What are we looking for?:

Bright, fun loving and enthusiastic youths who are up for anything!  Ideally with an interest in illustration, graphic design, animation, tv and/or advertising. Oh, and it helps to be street-wise and confident in London.

What are we offering?:

A short-term period with us at jelly towers, helping us with everything from press packs and jelly bags, to delivering the latest Alison Carmichael campaigns; photoshopping or working with after FX (if you already have experience); and of course, making tea & coffee!  We promise there’s never a dull moment with us jelly folk!

This position is unpaid.

If this sounds like something you want to do, get in touch!  Send a brief description about yourself and what you’d like to do, plus your CV and any contact details to michaela@jellylondon.com.

Looking forward to seeing some new faces!!

Added 31st July ‘09:

Hello folks!

Thanks to the wonderful people at D&AD, we’ve had a HUGE response to our request for helping hands.  Our calendar is booked up to Christmas with work experience placements, which sadly means we cannot offer any more for the time being.

But, do not fear!  Continue to send in your applications; We’ll keep them on file until we have some cancellations and/or it’s the New Year and we’ll be looking for another bunch of enthusiastic people to join us!

Michaela.

Poked Studio is Artist of the Month!!

Poked Studio is one of the most unique artists in our jelly roster, providing us with illustrations and animations that are both vibrant and contemporary. He describes his style as “graphical fun… with a bit of darkness here and there”, often combining both 3D and 2D to bring his surreal ideas to life.

Poked Studio’s main inspiration comes from video-game graphics and cartoons; something which shines through in his scenes of underwater worlds and outer space battles. Most of his work is heavily character driven, and uses textures and small details to create exciting and funny characters which ooze with personality and charm.

His unique style has attracted attention from Sony PSP, MTV, Doritos and the BBC online, as well as FHM and Computer Arts magazines.  When he’s not working on high-profile campaigns, he designs bespoke artwork for companies such as String Republic shoes and Rossignol snowboards.

You can view a selection of his 2D, 3D and motion stills on our Artist of the Month website: www.jellylondon.com/aotm

Dolph is our May Artist of the Month!

Dolph is a fantastic new talent who has recently joined jelly.

He caught our eye with his dynamic and energetic animations and has wowed us with his illustration and character design!

Describing his style as “an urbanish twisted fairytale”, he has over 10 years experience in animation; all starting from his hometown, Rio de Janeiro!

His clientele has ranged from MTV to Sony, Coca-Cola and the Cartoon Network. His main inspirations are old sci-fi movies, which has led him to work on special effects for feature films such as Chronicles of Narnia and Hellboy!

You may have seen him in Stash Magazine with his Anime Network piece called “My Favourite Show” or amongst the talent in the Motion Graphics Collection DVDs.

View his still-frames on our Artist of the Month webpage!!

BBC Pokes F1

Formula 1 is one of the hottest events of the International Sport calendar – and our jelly baby Poked Studio was approached by Monterosa to help BBC online publicise this year’s races!

He has designed every race track for the interactive flash guide maps.  We think they look great!!

Elliott is April Artist of the Month!

jelly are proud to announce Elliott as our April Artist Of The Month.

Elliott is one of our talented motion gurus producing digital animations and broadcast commercials for some of our most high-profile briefs. He has a vibrant, bold and punchy style which can be manipulated to fit any project we throw his way!

His strength lies with his vast technical knowledge for his field, allowing him to work with anything and everything from 3D to After FX with a fast turn-around.

You can now view some still-shots of Elliott’s work at www.jellylondon.com/aotm

Collaboration for Trentodoc

jelly hello!

Not so long ago, our artists Neil Duerden and Elliot got a chance to collaborate and produce a TV commercial for the sparkling wine company, Trentodoc. It gave jelly the opportunity to join forces with Amsterdam-based talent Agent: Unit to provide a slick 2d and 3d mix, that took Neil’s distinctive illustrative elements and animated them for spots on Italian TV. The final TVC was a 20” with end graphics added in-house at Leo Burnett (advertising agency) in Turin.

Nice work boys….

jelly joins the 21st Century!
