It’s the Highlife for Sim!

highlife-1_blog

Despite the summer feeling so far in the past, we’d thought we’d share with you some fantastic artwork by our illustrator Sim Marriott!

Sim was commissioned by Cedar Communications to produce a front cover based on an article about travelling to Sardinia, Cyprus, New York and the Dominican Republic with kids!

The character design on the cover is fantastic and took over a week to design – we really recommend you click on the image to check out the larger version!

Acer receives the Brand Nu treatment

Acer Family main_blog

jelly hello!

Our fantastic Brand Nu recently provided his artistic touch to Acer laptops. His illustrations were used on a 20-page supplement in the September Windows Now Magazine.

“I had open reign how to interpret the brief, which resulted in mixture of photography, handrawn and simple vectors to emphasise the perspective and user stories. The work was very enjoyable, it gave me a platform to try yet again to push the trademark ‘Brand Nu’ style in different direction”.

You can see more on his blog here!

Work Spotting: Samsung in the Shortlist!

neil-duerden_samsung-blog

Good Morning!

We were really excited to see our latest artwork by Neil Duerden in the Shortlist magazine this morning.

The Freedom campaign for latest Samsung X-Series laptop was directed by our friend Kelly Sands at Beattie McGuinness Bungay. Neil was asked to illustrate and express the freedom of having 9 hours of battery life on the laptop; we think he did a fantastic job!

Commerical real estate never looked so good!

Unknown

Earlier this year we told you about our artwork featuring in the Business Superbrands Annual 2009.

For a while we were a little worried that our fantastic  green illustrations would never see a superbrand again… but luckily, “recession” doesn’t appear to be a word in CBRE’s dictionaries.

A few months ago our Tony Wilson and the jelly house team were back to illustrate the most recent advertising for the real-estate giant.

The various flat-colour and photo-realistic illustrations are featuring on their printed advertising material all over the place, so keep an eye out!!

Steve Scott recently lent a helping hand to John Brown’s Roger Magazine.

His fantastic illustrations were needed to brighten up the magazine’s ‘Have You Heard’ news pages – 3 double page spreads in total!  They include some rather lively-looking cheerleaders and an unusual dull lightbulb.

Jemillo Independent illustrations

jelly hello!

Isn’t it fantastic when you blog surf and discover some fantastic artwork by your very own artists?

jemillo2

Our lady Jem Robinson is a frequent illustrator for The Independent (previous blog) and we stumbled upon her two latest illustrations.

For this illustration she was asked to create an image about the death of Harry Patch, the last remaining veteran of the first World War.

“I guess that is what a simple illustration can make you think about. Harry Patch represented a generation that was lost. It put my grumblings about being ill into the shade and I hope that my work was suitably humble and respectful to his memory and his family.”

The more recent of the two illustrations is about state control/intervention.

The lines of the Union Jack are used to represent paths and the Government hand is prodding the character down their chosen path.

Higher res versions can be viewed by clicking on the images, or you can find out more information on Jem’s blog: www.jemillo.com/blog
