Poor Radim (AKA Brand Nu). He spent his Halloween Eve in the hell that is THE HOSPITAL! with a broken leg… how did it happen?:
“[I was] running in wrong direction down the stairs at Wimbledon, trying to dodge the people on my way to a party. Only two steps away from getting it right!”
So, lesson learnt? Will you ever run for a train again, Radim?
“Will I f**k!?
“
We at jelly all wish him a swift recovery and a happy 6 weeks in an attractive plaster-cast – get well soon!!
If you’re on twitter, we suggest you all send your happy thoughts to him @brand_nu
The past week we’ve been holding a Halloween Design competition, where we’ve asked you – our friends – to design a Halloween-Themed Mr Jelly Pants. (No idea what we’re talking about? Click here)
This year has been the best response we’ve had so far for publicity and entries and we’d like to say thank you to everyone who had the time to enter! Let’s not forget everyone who forwarded the e-mail to their friends and re-tweeted our posts for entries. Thank you too!
The office has got a little heated with debate with who should win… hence why it’s taken us 4 hours to decide!!
The winner of our Halloween Competition was sent to us by illustrator Kareen Herbert! Our office instantly fell in love with this and she received the most votes in our office by a long-shot!!

She chose our Trick Prize – which means she’ll be receiving a lovely box of random stuff found around our office! (A sneak peek here!)
Our runners up were submitted by Glenn Maguire at Sparkle Media and Matt Poscha at Proximity London – well done to you both!!

All of our entries can be viewed on our Flickr page here
If you missed out on the chance to win, but still made – or would like to make – a Mr Jelly Pants, please send them in! We’d love to feature everyone’s versions of Mr Jelly Pants in our gallery.
All our current entrants and any we receive in the next few days will receive an Alison Carmichael Abandon Hope poster as a huge thank you from us at jelly – you’ve all put huge smiles on our faces

Last week we got in touch with details for our annual Halloween Competition.
Already, we’ve had a fantastic response via our twitter and e-mail campaign! But, there’s still plenty of time for you to have a go and send us your design!
If you’d like us to refresh your memory, http://jellylondon.wordpress.com/2009/10/23/fun-friday-halloween-competition/!
We’ve also set up a flickr page with our current in-house entries – check them out!!
Last week, Charlie and Chris were asked by Steph Webb at Coventry Uni’s ‘Charge Team’ to come and talk to their third year Graphics and Illustration course students.
Charge is a wonderful student organisation that raises funds for the Coventry end of year show by organising talks from such industry luminaries as Si Scott and other UK design/illustration heavyweights. Our own jelly heavyweights went to see them with a laptop full of jelly projects and two heads full of sound advice about how to get on in our tricky business.
The guys talked for over an hour and then were whisked off to the pub by the students where they answered more questions in return for drinks… a far trade we thought.
Jelly are happy to be involved in a great cause like Charge and hope to get involved again the future!
You can see more pictures from the event on our flickr page here!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
Yes, it’s that time of year again! Here at jelly, we’ve already started carving pumkins, mixing our fake blood and getting our gruesome costumes together for next Saturday’s festivities. In the ghoulish spirit of Halloween, we’re holding our annual competition:
Design a Halloween-Themed Mr Jelly Pants
The past two years have been such a success that we’re opening this opportunity to all you creative folk again!
To enter, this is all you have to do:
1) Download the template with body and head.
2) Add eye of newt and wing of bat; say hubble, bubble, toil and trouble and bring your very own creation to life!
3) Send us a photograph.
Need some inspiration? We have a gallery of all our favourite past entries here!
Trick or Treat?
This year we have the option of 2 mystery prizes – one is very nice, and the other is very naughty! Let us know which you want to receive along with your submission!
Send your entries to michaela@jellylondon.com before 6pm on the 29th October.
Winners will be announced on the 30th!
Not so long ago, the London agency Krow approached jelly and Alison Carmichael to come up with some squidgy, creamy type for the new Hellman’s print campaign.
Alison created all the headlines by hand and then collaborated with jelly’s in-house digital type gurus to create a font for the body copy of the Ad, that could be easily amended and used for future work.
The final result… some really yummy-looking adverts. Nom Nom!
Our gingery boss Chris recently got a bit of a shock when he started reading a book to his children. One of the characters – a fruit fly! – can be found throughout the book to wear an “I <3 jelly” t-shirt!
The book was: “The Story of Frog Belly Rat Bone” by Timothy Basil Ering; a picture book which features some really beautiful painted-style artwork. If you’d like to find out more, click here!
