A word from the Boss, Andy:

Hi all,

I need your help.

Charlton Athletic run a scheme called ‘The Charlton Upbeats’ which is a community scheme to help children and young adults with Downs Syndrome. My son, Joshua and many of his buddies attend this scheme and it has made a huge difference to their lives.

They are through to the final of ‘The People’s Millions’ which will be shown on ITV’s London Tonight this evening at 6pm.

They desperately need your votes and if successful over £35,000.00 will go to the scheme helping them extend their current services and allowing them to offer other services such as Speech and Language Therapy.

To help them in their endeavours please call and vote for Kick Start for Life on 0871 626 88 47.

Many thanks for your help and keep your fingers crossed.

Tony Wilson is our Winter Artist of the Month

Tony is one of our longest-established artists, based at the heart of jelly. He joined our studio as a visualiser for Three Blind Mice around 12 years ago, before transgressing to the brighter-side of finished illustration when jelly was born. With two decades of commercial illustration experience, it’s no wonder that he has developed into the most versatile and adaptable artist on our roster.

Click here to see Tony’s latest work on the blog!

Challenge Tony!
We stand by our statement that Tony can develop any style on request. To prove this, we want you to send in a style which you have not seen in his portfolio! He’ll have until Friday to create the illustration and we’ll post them up on our Friday Fun blog! E-mail michaela@jellylondon.com with your requests!

Friday Fun: Hello You Creatives!

Good Morning and a Happy Friday!!

Today we wanted to dedicate our blog as a thank you to the Hello You Creative team.

Their blog helloyoucreatives.tumblr.com “is about getting to know each other, finding new things and general rants/discussions about being creative” and features some of the most random yet fascinating/hilarious/disgusting pieces of ‘creative’ work from all over the place.

The last few months has seen jelly and our artists featured on there! We love them so much we’d like everyone to check them out too!!

jelly Stop Motion by Matt Lloyd

Last week we were joined for some work experience by Matt Lloyd, an illustrator fresh out of Bath Spa Uni.
He really impressed us with his stop-motion work on Vimeo (click here to watch Hand Drawn Evolution) that we set him a challenge – to create one for jelly!
With only a few days and a light-box, Matt (with a little help from our in-house IT wizz-kid, Sam) created an 11-second stop-frame animation which we’re excited to now share with you.

Friday Fun: A Day in the Life of…

A week or so ago we kept a brief photo-diary of our times in the jelly office.

(This was around Halloween so may explain SOME of the madness you’re about to witness)

Anyway, if you fancy having a peruse at our random toys and our professional work board, please click on the image and have a look!

Friday Fun II: We have David Kleinman!

We had a minute of madness….

(No Davids were harmed in the production of this film)

Friday Fun I: Fashion Fail

fashion fail

Following the rather amusing “Black&White Plaid Shirt Friday” when Barney, Michaela and a certain Dave from BL:ND all came to work in none other – and then pretended to be cowboys – Charlie and Chelsie decided they were going to do one better… and wear the exact same (may I add, highly distinctive) dress.  Oops.

Our Friday Status Meetings will now not only discuss new business and promotion; but also the next week’s wardrobe schedule!

Why you should never run for a train….

radim_broken leg

Poor Radim (AKA Brand Nu).  He spent his Halloween Eve in the hell that is THE HOSPITAL!  with a broken leg… how did it happen?:

“[I was] running in wrong direction down the stairs at Wimbledon, trying to dodge the people on my way to a party.  Only two steps away from getting it right!”

So, lesson learnt?  Will you ever run for a train again, Radim?

“Will I f**k!? :)

We at jelly all wish him a swift recovery and a happy 6 weeks in an attractive plaster-cast – get well soon!!

If you’re on twitter, we suggest you all send your happy thoughts to him @brand_nu

Halloween Competition Winners!

The past week we’ve been holding a Halloween Design competition, where we’ve asked you – our friends – to design a Halloween-Themed Mr Jelly Pants. (No idea what we’re talking about? Click here)

This year has been the best response we’ve had so far for publicity and entries and we’d like to say thank you to everyone who had the time to enter! Let’s not forget everyone who forwarded the e-mail to their friends and re-tweeted our posts for entries. Thank you too!

The office has got a little heated with debate with who should win… hence why it’s taken us 4 hours to decide!!

The winner of our Halloween Competition was sent to us by illustrator Kareen Herbert! Our office instantly fell in love with this and she received the most votes in our office by a long-shot!!

She chose our Trick Prize – which means she’ll be receiving a lovely box of random stuff found around our office! (A sneak peek here!)

Our runners up were submitted by Glenn Maguire at Sparkle Media and Matt Poscha at Proximity London – well done to you both!!

If you missed out on the chance to win, but still made – or would like to make – a Mr Jelly Pants, please send them in! We’d love to feature everyone’s versions of Mr Jelly Pants in our gallery.

All our current entrants and any we receive in the next few days will receive an Alison Carmichael Abandon Hope poster as a huge thank you from us at jelly – you’ve all put huge smiles on our faces :)
