Need some industry experience?

news

jelly hello!

We currently have the opportunity to offer some enthusiastic school/university leavers to help us around the office!  We have a list as long as our arms of promotion and in-house projects we need helping hands with.

What are we looking for?:

Bright, fun loving and enthusiastic youths who are up for anything!  Ideally with an interest in illustration, graphic design, animation, tv and/or advertising. Oh, and it helps to be street-wise and confident in London.

What are we offering?:

A short-term period with us at jelly towers, helping us with everything from press packs and jelly bags, to delivering the latest Alison Carmichael campaigns; photoshopping or working with after FX (if you already have experience); and of course, making tea & coffee!  We promise there’s never a dull moment with us jelly folk!

This position is unpaid.

If this sounds like something you want to do, get in touch!  Send a brief description about yourself and what you’d like to do, plus your CV and any contact details to michaela@jellylondon.com.

Looking forward to seeing some new faces!!

Added 31st July ‘09:

Hello folks!

Thanks to the wonderful people at D&AD, we’ve had a HUGE response to our request for helping hands.  Our calendar is booked up to Christmas with work experience placements, which sadly means we cannot offer any more for the time being.

But, do not fear!  Continue to send in your applications; We’ll keep them on file until we have some cancellations and/or it’s the New Year and we’ll be looking for another bunch of enthusiastic people to join us!

Michaela.

BBC Pokes F1

Formula 1 is one of the hottest events of the International Sport calendar – and our jelly baby Poked Studio was approached by Monterosa to help BBC online publicise this year’s races!

He has designed every race track for the interactive flash guide maps.  We think they look great!!

Since joining the jelly collective in Autumn 2007, Brand Nu has been producing dynamic compositions for some of our more commercial briefs to date. He describes his style as “A mixture of storytelling via unusual shapes, patterns and colours” and gets his inspiration from the ‘problem-solving’ of creative briefs and ideas.

Brand Nu’s work varies from typography to highly-layered designs, mainly comprising of digital illustration and sensitively manipulated stock or commissioned photography. He will even art direct projects if required! His versatility has made his artistic talent incredibly attractive to all sorts of clients and briefs.

Brand Nu’s internationally-renowned design-savvy talent has already landed him designs for household name brands in various fields, including: O2 UK & Germany, BBC, Xbox, Fuze, Coca Cola and Smirnoff – to name a few. His most recent campaign for the National Lottery has seen his “Here’s To Giving It A Go” artwork viewable in thousands of retail outlets around the UK – Oh, and he was selected through jelly to design the front cover of Creative Handbook 2009!

Steve Scott is jelly’s February Artist of the Month

jelly are proud to announce Steve Scott as February’s Artist Of The Month.

Steve is the latest illustrator to join the jelly team with his surreal, character-driven work. He describes his style as “a post pop psychedelic attack by giant Manga robots controlled by pin-up girl spies” – and we’re not ones to disagree! Inspired by Sixties poster art, comic books and sinister stories, Steve brings retro and quirky characters to life amongst the jelly collective.

Steve is already renowned worldwide for his animation work. He recently collaborated with another jelly illustrator (Matt Johnstone) on an animation for Nokia, which is about to be released on Imax screens worldwide! His previous clients include Channel 4, Volvo, Sony Ericsson, Nickelodeon and even the mighty Led Zeppelin!!

The jelly Collective is here!

Stop! Co-lab-o-rate and Listen! (vanilla ice 1990), sorry.

Well hello! jelly have come up with a super-fun co-working collaborative idea that might just tickle your creative bits. The jelly Collective is a platform from which jelly’s most talented and motivated members can advertise their artistic ambitions to London’s bedouin agency planners, producers and other transient creative talent stuck for fun stuff to do.

Just think of all those unrealised projects sitting in brain boxes, sketch books and note pads… We believe it be jelly-tastic to see those ideas come to life! How you ask? It’s easy!

Using our jelly forum, our artists pimp their thoughts/ideas/recipes to fellow users for immediate gratification, worship and envy.  Once an idea has been tossed, flossed and made generally beautiful, jelly help to promote the finished piece within the industry by showcasing it at festivals, exhibitions and any other suitable event or take off…

Are you as excited as we are? If you’d like more information, then please contact us on info@jellylondon.com.

September Artist of the Month: Neil Duerden

Both Neil’s illustration and animation styles are undeniably modern and commercial.

“My style is all about engaging the viewer and pulling them into a piece”

His success is achieved by displaying immense amounts of detail: using multiple, complex layers of colour and photography and combining them with elements of hand rendered brush work.

His style is constantly evolving keeping his work fresh and innovative allowing a clear differentiation between him and similar artists in the industry.
