Commerical real estate never looked so good!

Unknown

Earlier this year we told you about our artwork featuring in the Business Superbrands Annual 2009.

For a while we were a little worried that our fantastic  green illustrations would never see a superbrand again… but luckily, “recession” doesn’t appear to be a word in CBRE’s dictionaries.

A few months ago our Tony Wilson and the jelly house team were back to illustrate the most recent advertising for the real-estate giant.

The various flat-colour and photo-realistic illustrations are featuring on their printed advertising material all over the place, so keep an eye out!!

Last week, Campaign held their yearly photography awards.

The first image from the “Alison woz ‘ere” campaign – Clean Me – was nominated for the Gold Award Medium and Effects Colour Category.

Although this wasn’t a winner, the photographic duo Sean & Ben still managed to walk away with an award for their Evil campaign!

Chelsie – Agony Aunt to the Creative Graduate!

chelsie

Well, not quite.  But she was recently approached by our friends at Computer Arts to feature in their current Graduate Showcase issue as part of the round table discussion on breaking into the industry.

Despite being rained on before hand, the 4 page article features some rather lovely pictures of her (which, may I add, has led to heavy mocking in the office!); and quotes-a-plenty.  Food for thought for any recent uni-leaver hoping to break into the commercial creative world.

“There’s always going to be a need for fresh, exciting talent to put a bit of a pulse into the market”

To find out more about what Chelsie had to say, pick up a copy of Computer Arts issue 165 (more details here!)

Need some industry experience?

news

jelly hello!

We currently have the opportunity to offer some enthusiastic school/university leavers to help us around the office!  We have a list as long as our arms of promotion and in-house projects we need helping hands with.

What are we looking for?:

Bright, fun loving and enthusiastic youths who are up for anything!  Ideally with an interest in illustration, graphic design, animation, tv and/or advertising. Oh, and it helps to be street-wise and confident in London.

What are we offering?:

A short-term period with us at jelly towers, helping us with everything from press packs and jelly bags, to delivering the latest Alison Carmichael campaigns; photoshopping or working with after FX (if you already have experience); and of course, making tea & coffee!  We promise there’s never a dull moment with us jelly folk!

This position is unpaid.

If this sounds like something you want to do, get in touch!  Send a brief description about yourself and what you’d like to do, plus your CV and any contact details to michaela@jellylondon.com.

Looking forward to seeing some new faces!!

Added 31st July ‘09:

Hello folks!

Thanks to the wonderful people at D&AD, we’ve had a HUGE response to our request for helping hands.  Our calendar is booked up to Christmas with work experience placements, which sadly means we cannot offer any more for the time being.

But, do not fear!  Continue to send in your applications; We’ll keep them on file until we have some cancellations and/or it’s the New Year and we’ll be looking for another bunch of enthusiastic people to join us!

Michaela.

Our jelly baby Neil Duerden has just completed the latest Sony Ericsson campaign (his fifth for this brand!) that will be running all over the world very soon!!

Apparently he really enjoys the challenges of keeping this phone brand ahead of the competition… we just think he’s a step closer to that ‘world domination’ he keeps talking about!!

Caroline picked for AOI Images 33

caroline_step4

We recently heard the fantastic news that our jelly illustrator Caroline Tomlinson has been selected to go in both the AOI Images 33 exhibition and annual.  Her piece was created for The Scottish Goverment through Newhaven Ad Agency in order to promote greener living and things everyone can do to protect the environment.  It says “Step 4: Leave The Car Behind At Least Once A Week” in little green foot steps.

All of her images featured in the Scotsman back in early 2008.

Alison Carmichael woz ‘ere

clean me

She’s at it again! Alison Carmichael has just provided jelly with the first print, “Clean Me” of her latest self-promotion campaign entitled “Alison Carmichael woz ere”.

Award winning creative, Sean Doyle had a simple yet effective idea for a concept: Beautiful lettering in unexpected or surprising places. He handed this concept to Mark Denton to art direct, joined by hand-lettering artist Alison Carmichael and the photographic duo seanandben.com to put the idea into action!

This particular image was selected for its great subject matter and beautiful imagery from a long list of ideas. The location wass a car park overlooking the Olympic Village and London by night. The van itself was sprayed with dirt and then the artwork was projected onto the door and written in by finger. Very low tech!

A limited number of the A2 images have been printed by Argent Litho with a special UV gloss coating to be sent out as direct mail to creatives; The prints are finished off with a large unsubtle fluorescent arrow sticker reading “Alison Carmichael woz ere”. This feature will run through the campaign, and being a low tack sticker can easily be removed, should the recipient prefer the print without it on there.

Alison is pretty excited about releasing her work to the advertising and design world: ” I have a long standing working relationship with Mark Denton for creating self promotional pieces and it was really exciting to have so many incredibly talented people work on this one with me!”
