A week or so ago we kept a brief photo-diary of our times in the jelly office.

(This was around Halloween so may explain SOME of the madness you’re about to witness)

With today being the 11th day of the 11th month – AKA Remembrance Day in the UK – we thought it was appropriate to show you our latest illustrative work for The Royal British Legion.

The RBL are the charity which support our members of the British Armed Forces and their families through their yearly Poppy Campaign.

This year they’ve joined the online networking world with their own blog/live website: Legion Live

The PR Agency Launch approached us back in August for some creative ideas and illustration work by our fantastic illustrator Steve Scott.

Publicis London recently approached Alison Carmichael to help out with their new Poster Campaign for the new Renault Megane.

Alison worked closely with the Art director and Design department at the Agency to develp a ‘blueprint’ style of lettering which reflected the styling details on the car – she also illustrated the little architectural details on the layout and generally made the whole thing go with a va-va-voom.

We had a minute of madness….

Following the rather amusing “Black&White Plaid Shirt Friday” when Barney, Michaela and a certain Dave from BL:ND all came to work in none other – and then pretended to be cowboys – Charlie and Chelsie decided they were going to do one better… and wear the exact same (may I add, highly distinctive) dress.  Oops.

Our Friday Status Meetings will now not only discuss new business and promotion; but also the next week’s wardrobe schedule!

Despite the summer feeling so far in the past, we’d thought we’d share with you some fantastic artwork by our illustrator Sim Marriott!

Sim was commissioned by Cedar Communications to produce a front cover based on an article about travelling to Sardinia, Cyprus, New York and the Dominican Republic with kids!

The character design on the cover is fantastic and took over a week to design – we really recommend you click on the image to check out the larger version!

Poor Radim (AKA Brand Nu).  He spent his Halloween Eve in the hell that is THE HOSPITAL!  with a broken leg… how did it happen?:

“[I was] running in wrong direction down the stairs at Wimbledon, trying to dodge the people on my way to a party.  Only two steps away from getting it right!”

So, lesson learnt?  Will you ever run for a train again, Radim?

We at jelly all wish him a swift recovery and a happy 6 weeks in an attractive plaster-cast – get well soon!!

There is! Seriously!

Skoda’s latest machine to rev out of their factory doors is called Yeti.  Archibald Ingall Stretton are in charge of their digital marketing and approached us a few weeks ago with a brief: The Yeti needed a more picture-book feel, in order to appeal to Mum’s.

Our Karen Cheung was perfect for the task!  She drew various illustrative parts and hand-painted them before sending them to AIS’s digital department for a breath of life.  There will be 3 pop-up-book-like digital banner campaigns featuring Karen’s fantastic artwork.

The past week we’ve been holding a Halloween Design competition, where we’ve asked you – our friends – to design a Halloween-Themed Mr Jelly Pants. (No idea what we’re talking about? Click here)

This year has been the best response we’ve had so far for publicity and entries and we’d like to say thank you to everyone who had the time to enter! Let’s not forget everyone who forwarded the e-mail to their friends and re-tweeted our posts for entries. Thank you too!

The office has got a little heated with debate with who should win… hence why it’s taken us 4 hours to decide!!

The winner of our Halloween Competition was sent to us by illustrator Kareen Herbert! Our office instantly fell in love with this and she received the most votes in our office by a long-shot!!

She chose our Trick Prize – which means she’ll be receiving a lovely box of random stuff found around our office! (A sneak peek here!)

Our runners up were submitted by Glenn Maguire at Sparkle Media and Matt Poscha at Proximity London – well done to you both!!

October has seen Pizza Express throw some fantastic deals at their customers; and displayed some rather tasty artwork by Alison Carmichael.

Work Club approached Alison a few months ago with the idea for dough lettering.  jelly worked along side Pizza Express’s very own “Dough Master” to shoot a very large batch of dough with Alison’s letters cut out…

jelly soon realised that this wasn’t the way forward, and another shoot was organised with a real Pizza Express Chef – and the lettering was re-touched later.
